Drilling to be completed soon in Tallevast residential area

""

Remedial Action Plan Addendum (RAPA) construction activities this week, January 16 – 20, and the beginning of next week are expected to complete all drilling in the Tallevast residential community area.

This past Monday, January 16th, no construction work was done to observe the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. national holiday.  On Tuesday, construction resumed with extraction well drilling on the back of the Tallevast Post Office property and in the Rights of Way near the south lane of Tallevast Road, just west of the railroad tracks.   Work on the Tallevast Road well was completed safely and very efficiently.  All work was completed by mid afternoon, and Lockheed Martin utilized the Florida Department of Transportation Index procedures to safely operate the temporary Tallevast Road lane closure during the work.

For the rest of this week, drilling on the post office well will be completed.  Work will then begin on extraction wells to be drilled on 17th St. Ct. East, adjacent to the Lockheed Martin site and also near 78th St.  Additional drilling work will also begin on the Lockheed Martin site.  Our technicians will return to each well for development and yield testing, but once these steps are completed…we will be cutting down the well pipes so they are below the ground, capping them and placing clean-fill sand over them.  At this point the orange construction fencing will be removed from the well sites.

As always, if anyone has any questions about these construction activities, please give me a call at 941-554-3862 or 1-800-449-4486 and I’ll do my best to get the appropriate answers to your questions.
