Additional Remediation Efforts

Complementary to its mission of eliminating groundwater contamination at and around the former ABC facility, Lockheed Martin has undertaken other measures to benefit the environmental remediation activities at and around the former ABC facility.

Buildings 4 & 5 Demolition & Soil Excavation – ABC Facility
Lockheed Martin believed that Buildings 4 & 5 at the former ABC site, and the soil there, impacted the groundwater in the vicinity of former sumps. Explore the work plans that detail the demolition of these buildings and the removal of the affected soil there.

Interim Source Removal
On August 3, 2008, approximately 5,000 gallons of recovered groundwater were released from a secondary containment unit that is part of the groundwater treatment system at the former ABC facility site. Explore documents that detail how Lockheed Martin discovered and treated this problem.
