Lockheed Martin Completes Disassembly Operations
Lockheed Martin completed disassembly of Buildings 4 and 5 on the former American Beryllium Corporation site in December 2008.
Planning for this operation was under way for several months, with a focus on the health and safety of the Tallevast community as a priority.
Control measures such as low-noise cutters, sound barriers and dust abatement techniques were employed during the disassembly. The Tallevast community was safe during our operations; however, we did make arrangements to temporarily relocate residents on an interim basis at their request.
We are committed to the environmental remediation of the Tallevast community. We have, and will, continue to invest in the environmental, health, and economic needs of the community.
For more detailed information on remediation activities, see the current schedule of activities.
