Assistance Programs
Lockheed Martin, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Florida Department of Health, Manatee County and community members have engaged in a full-scale, cooperative effort to assess the contamination, map the groundwater plume, provide water for the community, and prepare for and begin remediation activities to ensure public health and safety. Consistent with its commitment to make every reasonable effort to respond to environmental conditions and to address the concerns of the community, Lockheed Martin has developed several programs designed to aid and benefit community members.
Medical Evaluation Program for Tallevast
Lockheed Martin established the "Medical Evaluation Program for Tallevast" as part of its commitment to invest in the health of the Tallevast community. Through the program, which was initiated in 2006, current and former Tallevast residents are eligible for a free health evaluation.
Property Value Protection Program
We’ve established this program in an effort to help Tallevast-area property owners get the answers they need regarding potential impacts on property values due to groundwater contamination associated with the former Loral American Beryllium Company site.
Well Closure Incentive Program
Lockheed Martin established this program as part of an ongoing attempt to address the groundwater contamination issue in Tallevast, Florida, and to restore residents’ faith in their community’s land and water.
Access Compensation Program
Lockheed Martin will compensate property owners for access to install trenches on their property.
