Through our commitment to the community of Tallevast, Lockheed Martin actively works with teachers, government agencies and independent experts to expand and enhance educational programs in Manatee and Sarasota County schools.
National Engineers Week
Students celebrated National Engineers Week by learning first-hand how the subjects they are studying in school are applied in real-life.
Real Life 101
Lockheed Martin partnered with the Manatee Chamber of Commerce to participate in Real Life 101, the Chamber’s award-winning educational program for seventh and ninth graders.
Recycling Round-Up
A prelude to Earth Day, our annual Recycling Roundup event helps teach Manatee County students about recycling practices and the environment.
Lockheed Martin is a major sponsor of the Manatee Regional Science and Engineering Fair and in January 2010, presented the Best of Show awards to the two students who will move on to the international competition. Each received a savings bond and Space Shuttle model from Lockheed Martin.
Each year Lockheed Martin sponsors local elementary school students' participation in Space Day a program that features interactive activities, discussions, and guest speakers, bringing space education to life.
Technology Student Association (TSA) Program
Lockheed Martin employees are involved in mentor programs with students in the Tallevast community.
